Remembering Dolly Parton
The biggest music story was the death of country music legend Dolly Parton, who died Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the age of 80.
Dolly’s career stretched across generations, with unforgettable songs including “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” “Coat of Many Colors,” “I Will Always Love You,” and many more.
Johnnie and Allen talked about Dolly not only as a singer and songwriter, but also as a smart businesswoman, actress and philanthropist.

He discussed his previous election results, campaign fundraising, and the need to reach more voters through advertising, volunteers, and community outreach.
Johnnie said one of his upcoming campaign goals is finding supporters who are willing to volunteer, make calls and contribute toward campaign advertising.

A Blind Man, a Cane, and a Fallen Tree!
Johnnie also shared a story from his morning walk after heavy rain and storms hit the Denver area.
While walking with his white cane, he suddenly encountered a large fallen tree blocking his path.
Johnnie used the Be My Eyes app, which connected him with a sighted volunteer who helped identify the obstacle and guide him safely around the tree.
That experience immediately turned into a music discussion.
